My Newest Obsession: My Laminator!

Two weeks ago I bought a laminator from Amazon – the best out of all my school supplies (maybe not – but go ahead and play along anyway?).

It wasn't really difficult to choose one.  Each machine looks a little different but they work the same.  All you need to do is turn on the power button, wait for the light to turn on that it’s ready to go, slide whatever you want into a laminating pouch (you need to buy those separate) and feed it through the machine.  I didn't even bother to read the instruction manual (as always).

I spent the past week laminating all of the math vocabulary word cards for the next school year.  I printed them in color on cardstock (I also bought the printer, ink, and cardstock from my new favorite store- Amazon).   I also love that I can turn regular lists/charts/bookmarks into things that will last- no more ripped up name tags, chore charts, printed games.  Are you starting to see why I love my laminator?

Other Reasons I LOVE my laminating machine:

  • It's small and light which means I can actually carry it back and forth to school in my teacher bag (although I think for the price...and considering the amount of laminating I plan to do this year because of all the new  materials and task cards I'll be adding to my classroom.
  • The lamination is sturdy.  It doesn't bend or bubble.
  • Parent volunteers can help out!
  • The best part about the laminator is that it heats up super fast.  I'm talking two minutes fast.  Our school laminator takes up most of my morning or planning period to heat up. I'm usually jumping around in front of it, yelling at it to hurry up because the bell is going to ring.

  • I can't wait to bring my new toy, ahem, my new laminator to school!
